Umbraco India Festival 2026
About the Event
Umbraco India Festival 2026 was India's first dedicated Umbraco community event: two days of talks, deep dives and real conversations in Kochi, Kerala, for developers, content professionals and technology leaders who build with Umbraco and .NET.
It was organised by the Umbraco India User Group (UIUG), a volunteer-run community of MVPs and contributors, with Umbraco HQ as title sponsor. It took place at the Lulu IT Twin Towers in Kochi's Smart City.
My Session
I Was Building AI Agents The Wrong Way. Here's What MCP Changed.
My session was featured as a highlight of the 2026 line-up. I walked through how I used to build AI agents, with hand-wired tool calls and one-off integrations, and why that approach did not scale.
I then showed how the Model Context Protocol (MCP) changed the way I build: a standard way for agents to discover and use tools and data, which makes them easier to extend, test and secure. It was a natural fit for a CMS audience thinking about how AI agents will work with their content platforms.
